Our Story

Our organization was established in 1983. We rode together for 17 years as the South Bend Snowmobiles Club.  Serval years later and as ATV’s became more and more popular, several club members began riding their ATVs together in the summer months. Realizing the club name no longer applied to everyone’s style of riding, the name and by-laws were changed to the Michiana Trail Rider’s Coalition. This change came about in 2000 and remains in effect as of today.

We are a 41C3, non-profit, family friendly, community club that enjoys members from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. We have our own club house, where we hold our monthly meetings the third Friday of the month and we are located just west of South Bend on Rice Road. With the support of the Indiana DNR the MTRC club operates and maintains the 70 mile long Buffalo Run Snowmobile Trail that is located west of South Bend, Indiana, in St. Joseph County and runs from the State Line to Highway #23

The club motto is “Dirt or Snow We’re On The Go” and we do go.  Snowmobile, ATV or Side by Side we have ridden in states from Main to Idaho, as far south as South Carolina and north into Canada. There is a lot to see and explore out there and we feel there is no better way to experience it than riding your favorite toy. By riding with us you will get to see and do so more that you ever imagined. It is our goal to get you and yours out there to create memories for a life time.

People that belong to the MTRC make the statement that, they are behind the sport they love and want to do their part to help preserve it. Please show others you care by being a supporting member of the MTRC.
